PHOTONEX Europe Live! is the UK’s key event for optoelectronic components.

Written by | Latest News

Photonex Europe Live! is all about light-based technologies; it provides electronic designers the opportunity to meet with the UK’s top supplier companies in an exhibition and attend presentations and talks in a supporting and free Enlighten Conference of over 120 speakers.

Within the conference, visitors with an interest in electronics may choose to attend ‘Optical Engineering & Design’, a meeting held on Wednesday the 11th. On the same day is a Silicon Photonics meeting, highlighting the adoption and innovation in hybrid electronic devices.

Utilising silicon-based material platforms and combining mature silicon processing technologies and tools from the semiconductor industry, Silicon Photonics offers the most promising solutions for industrial-scale fabrication of hybrid devices in which optical and electronic components are integrated onto a single chip. With the assistance of research funding for photonics technologies under the auspices of the Photonics for Future Systems programme and the Future Photonics Hub considerable progress has been made in design, characterisation, and manufacture of photonic-electronic integrated circuits (PIC).

The Enlighten Conference covers applications, technology advances, and emerging technologies in light-based technologies in 15 different programmes.

This year’s show will be held on Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th October at the popular Ricoh Arena, a well-known venue in Coventry, home of “The Wasps”, a multi-function building with impressive exhibition halls and meeting rooms. Recently a new rail station opened at the venue making the Ricoh Arena even more accessible: Station name – Coventry Arena.

Co-located with PHOTONEX is Vacuum Expo, an event for all technologies associated with a vacuum.

Thin film & coatings and semiconductor technologies are being featured within the associated conference “Thin-film and coating technologies” and “Surface analysis” may be of interest to component designers.

Attend one, or multiple talks, or spend the whole day or days in a specific meeting – all offered free of charge.

With so much to see at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 11th and 12th of October 2017, we are sure that we you will want to attend.

Potential visitors are encouraged to register and will therefore receive event updates now and into the future at:
